In 2009, Climate First's Founder & CEO Ken LaRoe founded First Green Bank, one of the first values-based banks in the country. He grew the bank to over $800M in assets, proving there is a strong need and significant customer demand for a values based, high impact financial institution. Before First Green Bank sold, it was internationally recognized for its groundbreaking impact as well as returning financial performance in the top 10% of all Florida banks while providing a substantial return to investors when the bank sold in 2018.
