Climate First Bank, a values-driven institution, is dedicated to enhancing our community through various educational and philanthropic initiatives. To support this mission, the Bank has provided numerous internships for college students across a range of departments, including marketing, information technology, project management, and more.

Parker Robichaud is an undergraduate student at St. Petersburg College. In September of 2024, he began his Cybersecurity internship with the Climate First Bank Information Technology (IT) department.

“I am a Cybersecurity major... so this internship relates directly to what I am studying and what I want to do in my career,” Parker explained. ”I get the chance to implement the information and ideas that I have been learning in school.”

His love for technology began in early childhood.  He was interested in exploring how the internet functioned, unearthing seemingly infinite possibilities. This curiosity eventually blossomed into an interest in cybersecurity.

“[I thought] ‘what could be better than getting the chance to be a part of securing an organization’s information from threats?’,” Parker said.

Climate First Bank operates with the purpose of bettering our global community through sustainability and community initiatives. As someone with similar values, Parker was drawn to the Bank as a way of contributing toward environmental responsibility. Through his internship with Climate First Bank, he is able to apply his knowledge, bridging the gap between theory and practice in an environmentally conscious way.

“When I first saw Climate First Bank on LinkedIn, I thought the idea of a bank that really cares about the environment and has such great values would be a perfect place for me to fit in,” Parker explained.

Outside of his academic and professional pursuits, Parker makes it a point to engage in physical activity. When he’s not studying, Parker can frequently be found on the tennis court, aiming to play daily. He also enjoys exploring his home of beautiful St. Petersburg by taking bike rides around the city.
