Meet the Climate First Bank team!

Join us each month to meet our amazing team of change-makers, learn about our culture, what our team does, and our passion for working for a values-based bank.

Kaina Norelia manages our Mount Dora branch… let’s learn more about her!

Tell us about yourself.

I was born in Haiti and moved to the U.S. in 2001. I lived in South Florida for about three years before moving to Apopka, where I finished high school and attended Valencia College. I am the oldest of three children and have two younger brothers. In addition to English, I speak Haitian-Creole & French.

How did you get started in banking?

I started in banking in 2012. Before that, I was working as a supervisor at a national retail pharmacy, but I wanted to make more of an impact in helping people. I had always had a strong interest in banking and decided to start applying for jobs.

After a few weeks, I received a call from a community bank, where I was hired as Assistant Manager and then worked my way up to a Branch Manager. I have been in banking ever since; I love the industry, the knowledge it has afforded me, and all the people I’ve met and assisted over the years. I have worked at several commercial banks and even spent some time working at a credit union.

What do you love most about being a branch manager?

I’m motivated by seeing people grow and flourish. Working as a Branch Manager means that not only do I get to help my clients reach their financial goals, but I also assist my staff with achieving their career aspirations.

What brought you to Climate First Bank?

I love the mission and the community banking ethos.

Dream vacation?

I would love to go to either Trinidad or Barbados to attend Carnival.
